Buying Used Video Games

OK, here's what I like about buying used video games.

1. Cheaper
2. Usually in stock

Here's what I don't like:

1. Sneers from other geeks that buy everything new
2. Unscrupulous sellers

Obviously, if you go to EBGames or another local shop you will get to inspect the disc before you bring it home. That's a bonus, but they also charge a heck of a lot for their games but when you trade yours in , they're worth pennies in some cases.

Which is why I like to buy used games online- eBay can be sketchy, so I usually use Amazon. Lots of people put their used games up on there in great shape for not much money.

But like with anything else, watch out for the aforementioned unscrupulous sellers who will try and pass off a scratched disc as a "hardly used" copy.

So buyer beware is the name of the game- hopefully you do that anyway- and it starts with taking a real good look at what condition the item is supposed to be in.

For some people, a working disc in am old Blockbuster Video case is acceptable.

For others, a working copy is only acceptable in it's original packaging in good shape as well.

You can see some of the great deals you can get on used games in my video game lens.

Your results may vary.
